John Mottishaw of Classic Pens and Nibs. com will be exhibiting his Nakaya pens and will be taking on nib work. If you have never met or visited with John Mottishaw here is your opportunity, don’t miss it. He is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable people in the business.
Richard Binder of Richard’s Pens will be set up and working the entire show. As always Richard has a line of people waiting for him to do his magic on their nibs. Get their early and sign in for his masterful work. Richard will also be doing a demonstration at his table, showing step by step what it takes to smooth and reshape a nib. Very interesting stuff, stop by to see it.
Michael Masuyama of MikeItWork.com will be exhibiting for the first time away from Sailor pen and on his own. Michael was trained and has been smoothing and adjusting nibs for more than 20 years under the guidance and direction of two of the world’s most honored nib meisters, Akihiro Kawaguchi, who still maintains clinics throughout the world for Sailor Pen and Nobuyoshi Nagahara, who has since retired. Michael’s poise in making everything look so simple to do, is in itself a wonder. Stop by and visit with him while at the show.
Well, Richard Binder makes this part of the list as well. Richard is one of those masters who does it all when it comes to pens. He is an expert repairman as well as an outstanding nib meister and specialist. If you have any pens in need of repair or just tweaking, bring them in Richard is here to make them write right.
Aaron Svabik of Pentiques will be here for you to bring your special pens to. Aaron has been fixing and honing his skills for more than 10 years that I can remember. He was just a boy when we met and has developed into quite an amazing and talented repairman. In addition, Aaron along with his lovely and engaging wife Kim, are working hard to maintain a full time business to support their family and also to strengthen and support our hobby.
Kim Svabik is a very active member of the PCA and since joining forces with the organization has increased membership and has sparked an interest in each of the children that she has been able to cultivate during various shows. She will be giving out the Scavenger Hunt books and the winnings prizes at the PCA table.
Ron Zorn of Main Street Pens will be working during the show to bring those vintage Sheaffers that you will find on the exhibit tables back to their original beauty and writing ability. Ron is an authorized repair person for Sheaffer vintage pens and has been recommended by the company. He also does repair on other brands, meticulously and efficiently.
