Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum, but have been reading and absorbing information for a couple of weeks now. What a great resource this is for the pen lovers of the world! Everyone knows so much and the reviews are great. I've used this forum to zero in on my ink colours and my first pens.
Who am I? I'm a pen freak from way back. Ever since elementary school, I was that one kid in the back of class who would had a fountain pen. I used to sling the ink out of it onto the floor and hold the nib against paper to see how long it would take to drain the cartridge. It was somewhat of a novelty back then and the cheap ones I had weren't practical on the cheap paper we had. Now in my forties, I've just discovered that there are nice pens out there that write nicely and don't get your hands covered with ink.
But my main entry into this world is actually through notebooks and journals. Having finally discovered decent journals a few years ago, I was searching for waterproof inks. And that lead me to fountain pens and especially Noodler's inks. I'm a big fan of Legal Lapis and Galileo Manuscript Brown for their bulletproof aspects but I also just like the colours. (Not to mention that Galileo supports this forum.)
My first good pen was a Lamy Safari, and within a month's time, I've acquired a few others like a Pelikan M200. Bottom line, I love fountain pens and have become an ambassador for nibs wherever I go. Personal favorite pens are Sheaffer Legacy (don't own one), Waterman Edson (don't own one), Pelikans (own two), Sailor 1911 (planning to own one) and anything that writes well for under $30!
So hello from Atlanta Georgia.
Stevo
