Ever hear of micro mesh? It's essentially sand paper in much finer grades than typically found. It works wonders with brushed stainless steel. I had a rather worn looking MYU 500BS with a patina of scratches in places where the cap clutch grabs the pen (section/body). After a go-round with 1800 and 2400 micro mesh, the pen looks significantly better (more like gently used excellent condition rather than moderately used good condition). And it seems to be holding up well with repeated postings. This is not something I'd recommend doing every few months to keep your pen looking near mint, as this may cause just enough wear for the cap clutch to start slipping. But, if you picked up a MYU 701 in the wild with years upon years of scratches and abuse, this is a great way to make the pen look much better. I wish I had been thoughtful enough to take close-up photos of the pen before doing this... would've been nice to have a before/after set of photos. But trust me--it works! I'm very happy.
