Is there any method for securing loose cap bands on vintage pens ?.

Thanks in advance

Yes! Use shellac to secure a loose cap band (Warning: crass commercial plug ahead!). The Sac Cement that I sell (Tryphon Enterprises) is perfect for this.
Wait until the shellac has dried and then use denatured alcohol to remove any dried excess shellac. Do not linger with the alcohol: prolonged exposure can produce surface damage to some plastics.
I use a piece of cloth dampened with alcohol. Quickly get rid of the excess shellac and then rinse the cap in running cold water.
Works very well!

Thanks for the reply Giovanni I'll try it out. I never considered shellac although I use it regularly in my sac replacements.

This is what I like about FPN, there is nearly always an answer. biggrin.gif
