I got some sample pages from bphollin, as discussed on this thread. I tried those three, and the Avon White sub-70 I had, along with some Finch "vanilla" 80# that I also had. Here is a close up view of the results.

The writing on the left is my Pelikan demonstrator with "Baystate Blue", and on the right is a Hero 300 with "Red-Black" which sure looks more like brown to me.

Oddly enough, the cheap Hero pen is writing better. Perhaps that is because the "Asian Fine" nib is even finer than the F nib in the Pelikan. Even that does not look as good as Branden's writing on the same papers using his M215. Why am I getting so much bleeding and feathering?
