Hello Everyone,
I was silently watching for a while and this is my first post.
I am zorbey, 27 year old and from Istanbul. It is to enjoying and informative to read your posts, reviews. I am a Rotring 600 fan. I love pens with fine lines, metal accesories and knurled metal stuff. So Rotring 600 is an excellent match for my interest. I met with them by a flickr post of calcul8er when searching for Lamy pictures. But I could only patient as much as 2 days and nights to get one of them. I am so obsessive about them. But I am happy for being here and knowing that I am not alone in this planet. smile.gif Other than Rotring 600, I love Parkers and Lamys. Mostly modern designs.

Here is the main reason that makes me write here, I will be visiting Munich next month. I hope to buy some pens for my interest but especially I want to hunt some Rotring 600 and other pens. So I did an archive search and saw the previous posts. Obviously, I will take them into care. When I search for "Schreibwaren" from google, google maps direct me to some shops. I will visit most of them. But I am still not sure about Rotring 600 availability. So I am kindly asking about where to find them in Munich? Any known shops or flea markets are welcome.
My second question is that I know that there are many flea market which one should focus to see good pens?

P.s. I know that www.ebay.de is a good option but most sellers are not shipping internationally.

Thank you for replies,
Greetings to everyone

Howdy from Chicago!

Can't say I know much about Munich, but don't write off vintage just yet. Ummm, so addictive.

Anyhow, welcome aboard.

I can't help you with Munich either, but welcome to FPN!

Hi there and welcome here.
Sorry, I don't know of a good store in Munich, and I can't tell you much about eBay since i haven't bought there either.
Bu do a search here, since that was recently discussed here and what to check out for when ordering any pens there.

Thanks to everyone from welcoming me.

Welcome, zorbey. Since Munich is located in Bavaria and not in Germany (just kidding!), I can't help you. I live in the North of Germany and have never been to Munich.

One of the best places in Munich with a large selection of FPs is Kaut Bullinger (strange name, isn't it?), located at Rosenstrasse (Rosen Street) down town. I bought all my Pelikans there and I am quit sure they have Rotring as well.

I agree on the Kaut Bullinger tip. They offer the widest choice today. Schreibmayr, in the “Fünf Höfe” is the only other big pen shop I know downtown, but it has moved to Luxury Lane, and I haven’t been in it for many years. Rotring isn’t a rare brand, in Germany, and you can find them also in department stores, such as Karstadt and Kaufhof (I don’t know, though, about the 600 model).
Munich has lost many nice pen stores, in recent years. It’s a shame. The Montblanc boutique (Maximilianstraße) is a new-comer, but probably won’t interest you.

It seems that I am the only one who thinks about hunting pens in the flea market.
Thanks to every contribution.

Welcome to FPN!! I have tried flea markets and antique stores with little to no success. However some folks have come away with some real treasures at some great prices. Good luck in your quest for more pens!

Hello zorbey,

welcome in FPN. Even though I am living in Munich, I can't give you real good hints. Most of the shops where I bought in mid 90ties a lot of my pens are closed now. The only shop i visit from time to time is Schreibmayr in the Fünf Höfe, 500 meters north of main touristic site Marienplatz. But they have more the high price things and a lot aroung writing like paper and leather accessories. When searching the yellow pages I found Fr. Ant. Prantl at Amiraplatz 3 (thought they already closed two years ago).
I think you can find the Rotring pens in the Mc Paper shops or in an other chain store because Rotring belongs to Sanford, one of the biggest provider of writing instruments and office accessories in Germany. Therefore the proposition of a colleague in an earlier response, to look in Kaufhof or Karstadt should be successfull.

About fleamarkets I am not informed. In the museums shop of Deutsches Museum or the subsidiary shop beside Hugendubel am Marienplatz (direction Rindermarkt) you can find some interesting writing instruments, specially searched for design, but I am not sure whether they have Rotring.

Greetings
