I would love to see some pen collections. How about some pics of some display case or other old fountain pen advertising. Anyone...

I have seen some cases for sale on ebay and here as well. Wonder how many have been repainted and are still in use or were tossed out.

There is a large impressive looking Parker display case probably 1940/50s listed in the eBay stores but it is pretty pricy @ $1,800.

It looks to be 8 or 9 feet tall and probably 8 or 9 feet wide. Would love to have it but ouch! I have a nice Shaeffer Snorkel case that I wanted to have restored but have not gotten around to it yet. It is probably 4 feet tall by 3 feet wide. I will try and post some pics if anyone is interested in seeing it.

Any signs or memorabilia out there????

I've a couple of Sheaffer cabinets, circa 1950's and late teens.

6' Sheaffer cabinet. Various Sheaffer lamps on top.

1919 Sheaffer cabinet, note the hand and "Self-Filling" on the glass.

How about a 1930's Parker Royal Challenger (etc.) case???

Of course it wouldn't hurt if it had a COMPLETE SET of Parker Royal Challenger pens in it, now would it? wink.gif

I got a few chiltons hanging around in this original counter top display....

and how about a chilton wingflow window advertising piece?

I don't know much about the wingflow piece, just that it seems like it might have been lit from the bottom, and likely was a window display item, r point of sale piece. I guess it's sorta rare, I don't know, just had it for a while now.

Hmmm... So I take it you're a little bit of a Swan collector?

Wow.

I've been at it a long time and I only collect the one brand, and only certain ones at that. Obviously, I am deeply disturbed roflmho.gif

Have you thought about what you will eventually do with your collection?

Yes I have, but have no answer yet. I would like to keep it intact if possible. There has been some interest expressed by the Fultz-Sachs museum that is being put together in Chicago, but just an initial contact. If, when the time came to divest, it was financially possible for me to do, I would not be averse to donating it to an appropriate museum, but I'm not sure I would be in a position to do that. I have no children, but if a niece or nephew (or grand-niece, grand -nephew) was to become sufficiently interested, I could leave it to them. Having the collection intact is the reason why I was able to write my book on the company so there are other reasons to collect besides just liking to write with pens thumbup.gif
