There was a fancy party in London last night to launch the Etoile de Montblanc pen collection. From what literature I've seen, there is a resin model, a jewel-encrusted resin and a range of precious metal options all encrusted with semi-precious stones.
Has anyone seen this in the flesh?

Unfortunately, I haven't seen it at the moment but I have tremendous curiosity to see it. From the pictures it seems nice. I hope somebody to post some pictures in the forum.

It is nice, but it looks almost feminine with the tapered curve of the barrel and the other curves in general. The diamond ornamentation also adds to this feel.

In the Fahrney's catalog the line is referred to as "jewelry that happens to write."

Somebody has connections...
I'm not particularly crazy about the design of this pen. It just looks very un-Montblanc, if you know what I mean. However, I am still intensely crazy about getting to see it in person. You know, no harm looking...

I've seen a few different pictures of the pen and honestly it looks like a starwalker whose cap end swelled to an odd shape. There is the gold and the diamond but the shape is just odd to my eyes.

It is definately catering for the female pen market. But not as classy as the Garbo edition IMO.
Anyway, lets wait and see how it sells...

I paid £1695 for my wife's standard rollerball version in resin. The limited edition number 11 of 15 was approx. £23.600 in white gold and in red gold they have number 1 of 15.

We still haven't received our allocation of Etoile pens yet. I guess Montblanc UK are stocking up their own outlets before letting it loose on the wider marketplace!
