Well, Mike, thank you for the lovely scan. Pity that I hate blue ink... That one I could almost see myself using.

Thank you for the review. Is this De Atramentis #50 (the number usually carries over even for private labels)? If it is, I will have to get some DA dunkelblau -- I really like the colour.

I agree that it's a nice business type ink!

Hi Peter,

I have checked the label (which is Laywine's) and bottle high and low for any number (let alone #50) and there is none. Sorry I could not confirm that for you.

Mike:

Checking De Atramentis' web site, their colour card is now bilingual (German and English); Dark Blue is the English equivalent of Dunkelblau and both are given as colour #50.

Thank you again for the review. I like De Atramentis inks, but had never tried this one.

I have checked DA's website on several occasions and find it extremely frustrating to find the colours that I might like - no swatches or descriptions of their colours and all the unusual categories to wade through! I mean, there is no order to the "Standard Ink" section.

IMHO, Dr. Jansen is rather a chemistry geek than a salesman ... laugh.gif

The link above is the only online reference I know of where most of De Atramentis/Dr. Jansen ink colours are shown with names. It seems to be a few years old and nowadays somewhat incomplete.

An even easier guide (in both English and German) are the three pages of "colour cards" found at http://www.de-atramentis.com/oxid.php/sid/...45bcc1.07816773

Ahh, thanks a lot - now I can see their latest blue's colour, "Colombine" #47.

Although, my Steel Blue (#43) looks different as represented in their PDF. It is a dark turquoise ink, very rare.

The best part of sharing what little I know on the FPN is having great people like you who add to the post and increase my knowledge. Thanks for including those references. clap1.gif

Now, if they would only update the chart so that the inks are in numerical order, simple folk like me won't keep smacking their head looking for #47 between 46 and 48. wallbash.gif

I should add that one of the fun aspects of this is reading the German name of the inks. roflmho.gif
