I'm not sure why this is called "Mercury" Green... when I think of Mercury, I think of highly toxic, mirror-like liquid substance, and not a vegetal green. There were many cars called "Mercury". Apparently there was an Merkur Xr-4ti that was a German build Ford sold in the US in the late 80s, but I really don't know if the green color was a signature color associated with the automobile. If anyone had ideas as to why this color is named "Mercury", I'd be interested!

You made me curious about the name also, and after a bit of searching, it appears to refer to the spectral analysis of mercury, you can search for "mercury green line" which is a well-known manifestation apparently. I've been interested in Abraxas inks since a long time but never had a chance to buy some.

"Merkur" refers to the planet "Mercury" in German so the name Merkurgrün is not associated to the element mercury - but the planet is not green either....?!

Ah, that mercury green! It's why fluorescent lights have a greenish tint to them, and why photographs taken under fluorescents and HID lights have that "night of the living dead" look to them.

Definitely different. Kind of pastel on my monitor. Thanks for sharing.
