Okies, in preparation for my two new celluloid babies (Tibaldi Iride and Impero, I am so excited they're finally coming!), I need to let go of a few others. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to break up my Miya/Miya Argento collection but these weren't getting any use. The red Argento was the first to go and now it's time for the Midnight Blue Miya to find a new home.

Specs
Manufacturer: Montegrappa
Model: Miya Midnight Blue fountain pen
Nib: Fine 18kt two-tone
Material: Blue variegated celluloid with sterling silver trims
Condition: Mint, dipped
Details: The Montegrappa Miya is the cartridge/converter smaller sibling of the flagship range the Extra 1930. Both have the Greek key trim on the sterling silver cap band and the clip and entire grip section is sterling silver. The Miya comes in four lovely celluloid finishes (some of the nicest around): red, turquoise, yellow and midnight blue. The pen being offered here is the midnight blue, which is a deep blue-black celluloid which some lighter, pearlescent blue accents. The pen is nicely weighted and is not too heavy nor light. The cap unscrews within two turns and can be posted onto the back of the pen although I find the balance is better unposted.

The nib is a very smooth 18kt fine nib with two tone Greek key decoration and rests upon an ebonite feed. The pen has been dip tested but not inked. It comes complete with instruction booklet, warranty card, silver polishing cloth, two spare cartridges, a converter and a lovely deluxe box with a pull out drawer and cream outer dust cover. The pictures following do not do the pen justice (possibly because of the glare from my desk light) as it does not show the depth of the colour in the celluloid.

The pen measures 134mm capped, 122mm uncapped and 155mm posted.

Sale information
I am asking US$400 shipped anywhere via regular airmail with all papers, but excluding the box. This is far lower than MSRP and any other deal I can find for a new Miya. If you would like the box, shipping is at cost. Insurance, registered, express all at cost. Paypal preferred (all flavours ok), first firm "I want it" PM takes the pen. A payment plan can be discussed. Please PM me with any questions you may have.

I am open for trades but a sale is preferable. I am not interested in vintage pens, nor Parker, Waterman, Sheaffer, Cross or Bexley. I prefer Italian pens, in particular celluloid, also Dupont or Nakaya. Please PM with offers.

Thank you for looking! Photos follow.
