I sent my faceted VP in to have fixed b/c it had cracked. They received the pen this morning & called right away. Unfortunately, they no longer have any parts for this pen so she is cleaning my nib & sending the pen & the nib back to me. That's it. She never mentioned replacing it or anything. I did mention in my letter that I had the new style which was probably my mistake b/c she then mentioned that I had a new style as well. So I'm only guessing here but I'm assuming that's the reason she's not going to replace my old one.

Guess I'll be searching the electronic highway for another one.

My first reaction is "sorry to hear that" given that my experience and Sharon's has been so different. I do wonder if that may, in the long run, end up being the outcome with mine though I'm keeping my fingers crossed. unsure.gif

Is your pen still useable?

Take care,

Ralf

No, it's not usable. Well, decimo here I come.

Well, according to a recent poll . . . ;-)

Enjoy your decimo. Now you have the fun of deciding which colour to go with!

Wow - I am truly sorry to hear about this experience. As Ralf said, this is VERY different from my experience (that new VP is still uninked, in fact).

Sorry for your loss, but I guess it is an opportunity to find a new pen to love.

I wonder why she didn't offer to replace it for me? Although, I'm pretty sure it wasn't Johanna that I spoke to but now I can't remember.

I don't know. This is a very odd situation, indeed. Perhaps because my pen was clearly old it was easy to offer to replace it. In my case, for the record please note that I did not request a replacement in the first place - I was prepared to pay for repairs to my pen or in lieu of that, to chalk it up to plenty of use and toss the thing away. The replacement offer was a bonus!

I was expecting to get my pen in the yesterday but it never arrived.

Jenette just called today saying that they found a piece to repair it thumbup.gif It is the same finish but of course it is not worn like mine. I said that was fine. I'm so happy. She said that once the threading goes there's nothing that can be done.

Can't believe I bought a red carbonesque in the meantime. Guess I will have 2 with diff. colored ink in them. Now, what color should go in the red...

I experienced superb service from Jeannette, too.

Wow, they found some vintage Capless pen parts at the USA Pilot Customer Service? If so, I wonder if it was just a single part or if they have a bunch more. smile.gif

She told me that they would never be able to repair the threading that I had to have repaired about 2 years ago. I don't really know what means. She was basically telling me if anything else happens to this pen they can't do anything for me but I don't know about anyone else.

I should have updated earlier but I got my VP back a couple weeks ago...only it was a brand-spanking new faceted VP in black matte bunny01.gif I was so excited. I inked it right away & wrote as much as possible that day.

Do you have the warranty card and did it crack because of use or materials. If it was the pen then I'd reply back and ask for another opinion or someone higher up to deal with it.

But I see that you already had a happy ending. Always nice to see a happy ending.

A NEW matte black. That's a happy ending alright. Namiki/Pilot just rock. Enjoy!!!!

WOO HOO!!!! An excellent ending to your tale! Ralf, between this experience and mine, there is definitely hope for your poor pen!
