Hello all,

I came upon this board looking for more information about the care and feeding of my pens, including repair and modification. I live and work (mostly) in the Philadelphia metro area (I say mostly because my work sometimes requires domestic and international travel) but I'm originally from South Carolina.

My pens are all Watermans (Watermen?) happyberet.gif : a Laureat RB as well as Laureat (M), Charleston (F) and Opera (M) FPs. The Laureats (RB is green marble, FP is malachite green) I've had since the early 1990s, the Opera c.2000 and the Charleston (black w/gold) c.2003. The Charleston is my daily driver of the lot.

I look forward to learning more from these forums.

Thank you,
Ed

Hi there Ed!

Neat userename. My Charlston (in ivory finish) is one of the pens I always use everyday. A great writer (nice and smooth and wet) and quite affordable. Let's say I have a few which costed me 3-4x as much but they by no means write as well.

See ya later

Neither; I'm a Georgia Bulldog, much to the consternation of many of my relatives.

Neat userename.

Good catch. My great-great-great grandfather was killed in that battle. Odds are he was blown up by some Pennsylvania miners, which makes it a bit ironic that I live in PA now. Don't get me wrong though; I'm not some "forget hell" type and I don't believe people should own other people. Still I found it interesting to have that connection to such a significant event in the history of the country.

Welcome to FPN! There is actually a recent rendition of the battle in Cold Mountain (the film).
