I’ve always been obsessed with pens. It has mostly been drawing pens(rapidographs, dip pens, and such), but 10 years ago I decided to get myself a nice fountain pen. I went to a local pen shop and bought a Waterman L’Etalon. I liked the L’Etalon’s styling, and it seemed like quality pen. It was also a good deal. It wasn't too long before I realized why – the pen would dry out because the cap was broken. It had a lifetime warranty, but I only recently got around to sending it in for service. Since I’ve gotten it back, I’ve gotten more into fountain pens. I’ve gotten a Lamy Vista, which I use mostly for drawing, and a Safari with an italic nib. Right now I’m trying to talk myself out of buying a Namiki Falcon, and I’m not doing a very good job.

Do I get any credit for my 20 year old Rapidographs(made in W. Germany!) or my ruling pen compass set?

Hello and welcome- If you're looking at the Falcon try a look around some vintage pens, there are reasonable priced pens with nibs that puthte Falcon to shame!
