I just installed a fine nib in my Pelikan 1000. It seems to my inexperienced eyes that the ink flows very freely. It actually writes broader than my MB 149 medium nib. Is this ink incorrect for the Pelikan or could I have mounted the nib improperly and somehow caused the problem? I really would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

Pelikan 1000s write very freely. You might want to go to an EF nib.

I don't know how that particular ink flows in other pens but you could of course try a "drier" ink in it, as well. Pelikan inks, in general, are a little stingier than many other brands.

I have the identical issue with an M400 - medium nib. The Pelikan ink helped a tiny bit; it's just a wetter than expected nib for me.
