I was cleaning my Taccia Staccato (the same one that is in my signature below) before I put it away for some time.I realised that a slight turn on its nib made it unscrew right out of the front section. It looked just like one of those Estie nibs that are available in so many different sizes and shapes.

Since I have just one very beautiful Estie ( purchased from Todd here), I didnt want to take its nib out to see if it would fit the Taccia. Can anybody shed some light on this?If it is the same size, it would open a whole lot of possibilities !!!

Getting Estie nibs on eBay is a comparatively very easy job.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

The Taccia I have is a Swisher exclusive, but it also has the screw-in nib. the nib is not compatible with the Esterbrook. From other threads on this forum, it apparently is a Schmidt standard nib, also used in the Levenger Truewriter series, the Bexley pen line, Retro 51 pens, and some DaniTrio pens.

These alternative nibs might have the pen manufacturer's name on them rather than Schmidt, e.g., Retro 51 orBexley, but if the threads are correct, they are essentially interchangeable. Todd at isellpens.com is currently selling the Taccia Broad nib assemblies for $15 each, and the assemblies are available from Levenger for $24 each or so. I have not checked my Reform or Pelikan pens to see if the nibs fit, but I would be surprised, besides which, Pelikan nibs are not inexpensive, and Reform pens are no longer made.

I hope this has been helpful.
