Nice review!

Just this week I received my bottle of this ink... Must say that I'm a bit disappointed. The ink flows very well and makes for smooth writing, but the color isn't as vibrant as I had hoped. Maybe I was expecting too much from an ink that comes in the most elegant bottle around? wink.gif

Thanks! I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed. I didn't really have any expectations for a light gray ink so I was satisfied with the colour but the flow on the other hand... It made the falcon nib write like a poorly made sumi brush...

I must have this ink!

...And then I'll need a pen to go with it. What's the perfect "winter" pen? smile.gif

Nice review! I was curious about this ink but I'm even more interested now as you say it's a wet-flowing ink. The other two Iroshizuku inks I have (Ajisai, Tsukiyo) seem a bit dryer than I'd like, and I was worried that this was the case with all of the inks in this line.

Any white pen with silver furnishing? A white Decimo or Casein/White Quartz CS 100? What about a custom made maki-e pen with a winter theme?

It's wet by my standards so ymmv.

I love both of the Iroshizuku greys... a cool and a warm - they are just beautiful! smile.gif

Haven't found them to be free-flowing at all... with a XXXF though, it can be hard to tell. wink.gif

I am really supprised by this review. I have this ink and when i use it, it looks just gray, more a greenish gray then the lovely blue/gray in this review. Wish i had this colour.

Many thanks for your review.

I really like this ink! A cool grey with blue tones which looks really clean and not like diluted black.

Blue tones vary a lot depending on the ink flow and nib width of the pen you use. Mine looks slightly less blue in real life compared to your scan.

This ink will definitely rival my old Omas Grey, Herbin Gris Nuage, W.B.P. Flannelgrey or W.B.P. Spreegrey.

Flows Ok in the few pens I've tried the ink so far but is too light to use e.g. in my vintage Omas with a flex "EF" nibs; the thinn parts of the letters are just too pale while the ones written while flexing the nib are OK (of course resulting in great shading).

Great review.

I think this color might be too light for my M nib Decimo but work great in my Custom M oblique nibbed Vanishing Point.

Has anyone reviewed the color Syo-Ro yet?

Not yet, but I'm sure one will turn up eventually.

That's a great cool grey blue color. Where can I get a bottle? I checked Ujuku and they don't seem to have this color.
Immoteus
It's available from Ujuku (either from the website or ebay.)

EDIT: Do you mean they're currently out of stock? If thats the case, that does happen from time to time.

No, I actually checked yesterday and didn't see it as a choice in the drop down menu for purchase. But I just checked again and it is available as a choice, so I'll add this to my ink drawer. Thanks!

I just went to their Ebay store and it said the ink wasn't available for shipping, only local pickup. sad.gif
