Hello,

I am a recent trolling guest of these forums. I have been looking for all things fountain pen - and for the most part I have highly enjoyed the reading. I am new to the world of fountain pens thanks mostly to a co-worker of mine. I have become a real enthusiast over night. I find that I am writing more frequently and that my writing now tends to relax and comfort me.

My colleague started by offering me a Chinese made Parker replica to try. A nice little pen for my very first experience. After much thought I decided I would try out a Lamy Al-Star along with some Noodlers ink (Bay State Blue and Dragons Napalm). However, I am waiting on the shipment (and have been for a few weeks). I am currently using my fathers 25 year old Cross Century, which has a fine nib. I have been using Sheaffer blue and can not wait until I get in my other colors and more pens.

I look forward to continue my learning and writing experiences on and off this forum.

Hey jalapeno - hot name! biggrin.gif

Welcome. You'll love Bay State Blue but be VERY careful with it. It is, beyond doubt, the best blue to look at - which is just as well because once you've dropped the ink almost anywhere that's where it stays! It has a reputation for staining anything it comes in contact with, and seems to be especially harsh for Lamy Safari's. I have it and love it, but only use it in pens that I don't mind getting stained.

Welcome, my friend. Enjoy this site, and all its pleasant reading.

And share a post from time to time.

Hello and welcome to FPN. Kick off your shoes and have a stroll around the grounds. There is lots of good information as well as people willing to share information. Heck you might even pick up a pen or two at the Marketplace.

Once again welcome.

Thanks :-) I got it from a bag of chips so many many years ago (8-10yrs) and decided that would be a sweet handle.

Welcome to FPN!

I was thinking about Jeff Dunham's character "Jalapeņo on a stick" when I saw your handle.

Looks like you made a good start.
Trying out dozens of new inks is nice too (and doesn't cost as much)
