My bottle of Purple Martin seems to give a subtly different shade to Songind's so I thought I'd jot a very quick second review...
This was written using a Porsche Design P3110 (the Texflex pen) wqith a buttery smooth Broad nib.
I see the paper I was writing on has yellowed a bit with age-please excuse that!

Great color and review. Le Couleur Royale is my absolute favorite ink, but, I want a more distinct purple. I'm looking for a purple for the new VP LE. This may be a consideration.
Thanks again.

Always love to see reviews of purple/violet. Thanks for taking the time. I agree with you on the "formality" aspect of the ink, though I think MB violet has the best mix of bright color and formality--sounds oxymoronic but that's how I see the ink.

This is my first review so Please be patient!
Ink Reviewed: Noodlers Purple Martin
Paper: Southworth 100% cotton resume paper
Pen: Sheaffer Calligraphy, medium point
Happiness factor: 5 of 5
Feather factor: I dont have it feather on me but I only write on 100% cotton paper.
Drying time: Dries fairly fast, but can take up to a minute when it is really humid.
For me Purple Martin never fails to flow with ease out of any pen that I use. I use Purple Martin for my dip pens as well. Over all I would say it is a dark purple in color, but not so dark as to be confused with black.
The scans attached are on a writing sample thats over 2 years old. The darker scan was face down on the shelf. The lighter one is the face up side of the same sample. The lighter side only received indirect light, Ive been accused of being a vampire for my aversion to light.
