Hello,
I thought I finally overcome the anxiety and post a message, after I have been reading the messages for a while. In fact, every day, I am totally addicted! I bought my first pen just three month ago after I saw a Parker Sonnet in the store on sale. Suddenly, I remembered using fountain pens in school (back then, quite a while ago) and that was it.
Since then, this forum has been fantastic for me. I have learned so much about the pens and what to look for. Not surprisingly, I own a few more now. One of them I bought from a member here, which was a great buying experience.
I live in the UK.
So it finally out, no more fear of posting the first message!

As someone who has made more than (eep!) 1600 comments, uh, all I can say is that it gets easier the more you do it. Feel free to jump in with opinions and questions!
What a beautiful cat in your avatar photo!

I think the FPN forum is amazing. I have been member for only a little over 1.5 months, but I have learned so much from reading, and reading, and reading... So much information available! And the tone is really friendly and helpful, I like it very much!
And I have been very lucky just a few weeks ago. On a trip to Germany, I was able to get a brand new blue Pelikan M800 for only 99 Euros, on sale at the department store Kaufhof (reg price 249 Euros). What a start into the hobby, that was my 2nd pen...!
BTW, Lisa, the avatar is my cat Alex!

Thanks for the friendly welcome!!!
In my 2nd post, the 1st mistake. I bought an M600 at Kaufhof, not the M800... The M800 is for the future...

Thanks Matt!
I was so surprised when I discovered the bargain. Of course, back in England with my new toy, I was able to find all the relevant information on this forum. Turns out, those blue M600s are apparently made for the US market but Pelikan occasionally uses the Kaufhof chain to sell off overstock pens etc. I couldn't believe my luck. The German members probably know more about these special Pelikan sales events at Kaufhof.

Welcome from SoCal. I'm new too, but my shyness only manifests itself in person.

Hello and welcome to FPN. Kick off your shoes and have a stroll around the grounds. There is lots of good information as well as people willing to share information. Heck you might even pick up a pen or two at the Marketplace.
Once again welcome.
