Full Version: Preparation of old cracks in celluloid for sealing

Dear folks:_____________
Have just discovered a small crack in the lip of an old marbled Sheaffer Flattop. It looks like it has been there a while and I am willing to bet that it is full of dirt. What is the best way to prepare this crack for fusing or sealing with Tenax (or something else)? I don't have an ultrasonic cleaner (yet).
Thanks in advance,
LEROY
