Hello Knowledgeable ones:
I have just purchased a new pressure bar for my Parker VS and I cannot get it into the barrel. Is it admissible to squeeze the wide part of the pressure bar to get it in. This Parker did not have a pressure bar when I got it from a friend. I have no other Parker VS's to judge it by. It is a button filler.

Hello OdGriz: Thank you for the picture. I bought the new pressure bar from Martin and the wide part is too wide. It looks similar to the pictured. I guess you have to adjust the pressure to fit up through the bottom of the barrel.

I buy my pressure bars from Tryphon.. the short pressure bar it the one you need for a VS and it might need a slight trim for length....

I too refitted a VS a few weeks ago. In my pen, the short Tryphon bar fitted exactly, no trimming necessary.

Regards.

I do trim them bars (remove a little material from the flat surface that the spring forces against the sac) in width, height and lenght, and make sure that the flat part is securely crimped over the spring once I place that part in the exact location I want it to be (relative to nipple and button).
