Do Omas Paragon nibs "unscrew" ala Stipula, Aurora or Pelikan?

Thanks.

Nope, friction fit and from what I have been told they are not the kind of thing that a rookie repair person wants to tackle.

....yes and no:

YES, they "should" unscrew just like Stipula, Pelikan,.....

but

NO, they don't unscrew that easy in most cases sad.gif

On most modern Omas pens the feed and nib is friction fitted into a small hard rubber collar which is screwed into the gripping section.

In most cases this assembly (feed and nib fitted in the collar) does not unscrew easily beacause it fits very tightly.

Personally I try to unscrew the assembly holding nib and feed tightly which works in ~ 40%. Be careful because if it does not unscrew easily you most likely will twist the nib away from its original setting on the feed!

If unscrewing does not work I try to pull out (acutally "wiggle" out) the nib, after that I pull the feed and unscrew the collar with a matching screw driver.

For installing everythin back you can either try to screw back the completed assambly or install collar first and just push back feed and nib at the same time.

With some practice I found this Ok to handle. Omas pens have an easy to adjust and maintain construction.

If you are not familar in taking apart pens you should seek "expert help" because you can easily damage parts (especially if some parts are fit very tightly).

Cheers

Michael

PS: some smaller models don't have the additional collar so feed and nib are just friction fit on those!
