MM12 has departed on it's record transit traversing the longest distance across the USA a traveling journal has ever gone, all the way from eastern NC to Hawaii!

I replied to Kiavonne in the International Traveling Journal thread that I'd be interested in joining such a group after looking at some of the posted journals online. Very cool! Is there a sign-up place or is this it? How do I get started?

You might try PMing her to see if she has any space left in a remaining group. That way you could also give her your contact info if she says there's room. Yes, usually when some organized, generous and enthusiastic person kicks off a circulating journal, you can reply in the thread and, if it's early enough, you are PM'ed with a request for contact info. And then, of course, if there isn't room and you are interested in originating a journal, I'm sure FPNers will have tips on how to start one going and what's involved.

I pestered a couple people about joining their traveling journals, but in each case, I was too late to get onboard. Those same people helped me so I am now ready to start my own journal.
