MM07 and ANES018 are both going into a mailbox tonight.

ANES018 is the Jose,Betty,Southpaw,(me),Kendall group,
and MM07 is the handlebar, anniemac, macthemaths, ray,(me) group.

MM06 is up next. (I messed up the numbering!) twdpens, KG4KAH, captnemo, and Walter's_daughter are up next on my list. I'll contact you by PM for your addresses.
Melnicki
MM06 (Captnemo, twdpens, kayaker, KG4KAH) went out today.

MM08 (HDoug, Shortie, lefty928, and Margana) also went out today.

MM09 is bound but far from ready to go out. I will try my hardest to catch up and get everyone on a journal!

I believe MM07 has been spotted in the UK recently. No word on any other MM series of journals. It would be lovely to hear from them...

Cheers,
MM.

MM07 Arrived in Norwich today - this was a lovely surprise for me in my pigeon hole at break!

This was the first of two FPN surprises - my delivery notice for the FPN pen also arrived in my email Inbox today.

Thanks to Melnicki for the Journal and to all involved in the pen project (especially to James for blitzing the deliveries).

Chris
Shortie
I got the wonderfully looking and bound MM08 in the mail today. Yippee.
chud
Woo hoo -- MM04 has arrived in Arizona today. :-) Whee!
Shortie
MM08 is on its way to Lefty928! I just mailed it at the post office.

Yahoo! MM08 was waiting for me in my mailbox tonight. I took a quick peek -- such neat handwriting inside ...

I'm really getting intrigued about this traveling journal. I was about to ask for scanned pages when I came across the link to José's page (Traveling Journal page scans). It would be great if someone could edit the first post and put the link there.

Also, I have a suggestion... I'm wondering if it makes sense in the traveling journal practice. Allocate the 2nd page of the journal to each of the names of the people who write in it. That way, it's easy to see who has participated (in case you're looking to see what a particular person wrote). Has anyone offered up that idea before?

At least for MM04, and I presume it's the same for the others. that list is inside the back cover. smile.gif

Haven't seen a journal since I posted off H101.

Have I insulted everyone?

MM08 was posted to Margana this morning!
HDoug

I am so happy to see it make the roundtrip to me! When I have filled the allotted pages, back it will go to Melnicki. Mahalo a nui loa to the participants, and especially to the originator, Melnicki.

Doug
HDoug
On the final leg of its first voyage -- put in mail back to Melnicki.

Won't get picked up until tomorrow, though. Happy Fourth to all!

As I have not yet received a journal should I give up hope or continue to face the post box each day with an optimistic heart?
Shortie
I just received MM08 in the mail today. I took a quick peek at it, but had to put it away when the GF walked in. We are getting ready to sell our house and move, and were trying to finish with the painting, as per instructions from our realtor...realeter...the person who is going to make a chunk of change from this house sale.
chud
Did MM04 ever arrive? Haven't seen any updates on it since I sent it off awhile ago...
Betty
Received MM018 yesterday...was really surprised....haven't received one in like 6 months already.
jimg
Does anyone know the whereabouts of MM05?

Well, MM03 finally made it's way back to me yesterday after 6 1/2 months!!! I'm guessing we might ought to change the name from "Circulating Journal" to something else . . . either that or pick up the pace a bit.

I haven't flipped through it to see who was the hold up . . . for that matter, it's been so long since I saw it I don't even remember who else is in it . . . but those who agree to participate in these (not just this one, but all of them) need to do so in a timely fashion or kindly step out. I'm not trying to be rude or ugly, but it's just not fair to the others who are participating.
[/rant mode]

Well, I'm looking forward to reading what's been going on, writing a bit, and getting it off before month's end.
Betty
With the new postage in effect, how much does it cost to mail the journal now? .65 or more? Thanks!
southpaw
Don't know on the postage, Betty, but I soon will find out . . . ANES018 just arrived today. Now I've got 2 of these babies sitting on my desk!

Well thats a little depressing. It appears as though this journal never arrived from its second recipient in the US.

I guess I missed out on this chain of circulating journals,....darn it!! Sounds like a great idea, if:

1) I am certain who the new recipient should be.
2) I don't have to be receiving a bunch of em...would like the idea for one (1).
3) If all the individuals involved could be depended on to ensure that the
book was safely passed on.

I can understand how a person (me included) would like to see it after it had traveled around a bit, just because it would be more interesting to read.

I've attached a picture I posted in another thread, that shows the type of journal that "I" use, (from Barnes & Noble) that is an initial $35.00 investment. Great paper stock for a fountain pen, and quite compatible, with regard to size.

Perhaps if a new one was started, I could get on the next list???? How do I do that????

If you start one, I'm happy to be second. The one I was already on never made it to the person on the list prior to me (CHUD). He would probably be a willing third. Finding 2 more folks should be easy and 5 seems to be an optimal number.

Andy

I am interested in a new journal too.

I'd be happy to be a third... but, I think MM04 was the only one I was on, as far as I know - unless I was added to another one and I missed it (which is fine!). I did receive MM04 and sent it off to the next person, but that's the last I've heard of it; I don't know if it arrived intact. I haven't received any others by surprise either. smile.gif

MM07 is with me at the moment (on its second time around). I will pass it on Ray again in the next couple of days and then it will be coming back to Matt.

MM04 arrived back in Tucson today! :-) I'll try to have it on its way in some sort of timely manner. It should be full before too much longer!

Just FYI...I have confirmed witht he post office that the postage to mail the moleskine cahier type traveling journal is now only $0.58, not $0.63. The post office even had $0.17 cent stamps for sale.

I will probably finish the last pages in this journal.

MM04 will be departing eastern NC today and heading across the big pond.

Does anyone know if MM08 is done, or just stuck somewhere? I really liked participating, and if it's done, I'd like to join in (or start) another...

Doug
wednesday_mac
I'd like to join in as well.

If that's not possible, I have a brown Moleskine knock-off (lined, the larger size) that could be sent out as a new travelling journal.

Journal MM03 is completed and was sent to Matt in San Francisco today.

Are there going to be any new journals floating about? If so, I would also gladly add my 2 pages.

ANES018 was sent off to Jose in Massachusetts today.

To those of you that would like to be included in a journal group, I would look back through this thread and find the members that are making journals and coordinating groups and PM them directly with your request.
