Hi Sidney...
in the past few months (especially in the past few weeks) the travelling journal project has lifted further out of the hands of its efficient instigator, jose anes. up until recently, jose has been issuing journals and doing a very good job minding their whereabouts and posting scans and maintaining a password-protected website. Jose's envisioning/rules for participation seem to work well for the majority of the journals.
Sonia has released a larger journal with modified rules (I think) so contact her if you don't like the tiny moleskines. I have made a few handmade journals that are the same size as the Moleskines, and will continue to do so (next in line is to make an international journal -- thanks to those that are waiting patiently). Hana has made a journal too. These are all the ones I know about. I currently have no other names for another US journal, but would be glad to include you on the next one. Or someone else can pick you up on a journal that they're intending to send out. I'll contact you when I'm ready to release another homemade US journal but it might not be any time soon. (But I'll continue to take names for those that are interested).

Hi All,
I wonder if H101 is going to make its way to UK after it has sojourned in the RoI?
I would love to get in on one of the traveling journals.

Chris, as I remember we were going to include you in mine and then it didn't quite happen.
However, when I get it from jweaver. I'll send it along to you and we can go from there!

I signed-up a while back but the journal (#7, I think) got stuck somewhere and never got to me. I still want to participate. Now that there are many traveling around, who do I contact. I wanna play!

I hope it's not too small-- I thought about everything else 'cept the size! It is shorter than the Moleskine ones, so maybe it's easier to hold open. I'm glad it's made it safely across the Atlantic, though!

I have added my embarrassed contribution to H101 and it has been ready to go for the last week.
Just as I was about to have it posted I got a PM from Alvyn (to whom I was about to post the loaner "51") who mentioned that the post at this time of year can be dicey !
Taking his advice I've dropped anchor on everything.
Unless anyone has serious objections I will hold off until the week after Christmas.
In my mind I have a vision of Hana with a HUGE magnifying glass sitting over the journal writing
I have never seen writing so beautiful, so small and yet so readable
The mind boggles.
Unfortunately it is also the sort of thing that gets me going off on yet another tangent - "I must try that"

Our local optician will be delighted
Enjoy Christmas folks,
Regards,
Ruaidhrí

Does anyone know Jason Weaver? He's had the big Moleskine journal since mid-October. I PMed him a few times and he was very nice, but the journal still hasn't been sent along and he did not reply to my email.
I'm hoping he's just been busy and will send it soon, I would be really bummed if it never made even one round, after getting so close to home.

MMO3 arrived yesterday from Betty. The long transit time was explained by the journal (BTW, VERY nice job on that, Matt) arriving in a plastic bag indicating that it had been damaged in transit. Not to worry, it was the envelope that suffered damage and not the journal. I'm looking forward to writing in it and passing it on.

Yes, you are the last on the list of MM02. (If my memory serves me right, MM02 was released before MM01, so that's how you may have the two confused.

Hi folks!! sorry i've been incommunicado on this post... things in my life are really busy.
but a journal update: MM01 was received about two weeks ago, and it was put in the mail to go to yoyology (Karl) last night.
MM03 is in my hands; it arrived a few days ago. I am likely to send it off in a few more days.
MM02 has not arrived. I have moved to SF and can't get a mailforward for my old address; I hope you didn't mail it to Oakland, Velma, but I suppose I will try to stop by the place this weekend (yucko).
I have delayed sending out any other journals. I have a note to myself that corien, carol, and jim would like to be on an international journal, but I am quite sorry that I haven't made it nor sent it out. I'll still do it (but it would be nice to have a fifth person!). Should I make it with a bit more pages? a bit bigger, or do you still want something the size of the moleskine cahier (which fits in a standard size envelope).
I want to say that I applaud Jose greatly for managing most of these journals. I am very happy to make lots of them (that's really not the hard part). What is difficult is staying afloat of this message thread to find the people that want to participate. If someone wants to organize a list of five names and addresses (including mine!) I am happy to make journals and send them out. Seriously, this is a really fun project, but I'm not good at orchestration, and I'm trying to work more efficiently at my research, which means no (or little) internet. That said, back to work!!

MM03 was sent to Kendall this past weekend, for round two. whee!
MM04 and MM05 are bound and waiting to be inscribed and sent off to new people.
MM01 was sent for round two last week, on to Yoyology
HOWEVER: MM02 is hopelessly lost. What a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing Hana's handwriting, but at least all the participants got a turn writing in the journal.

See Hana's new thread if you would like to be included in a traveling journal in the future. I am eager to keep binding new ones, now that somebody else is happily handling the logistics.

ANES018 arrived in SF. (Is MM03 still alive? Our group may have double-journals out, which is perfectly fine, since we're a reliable bunch). I'll send it on to Kendall in a few days. Betty, I love the scratch-on decorations and I'm glad you're finding some use for them!!!
MM07 (actually my sixth journal; I misnumbered, MM06 will be next) is about to go out to Handlebar, I just need to print and paste the addresses in; this is the first day I turned on my computer in a few days -- I've been so so busy.
