Being new to this forum & really to the world of fine writing instruments, could you please tell me your favorite Japanese vendor? I am in need of a new VP or decimo & would like to broaden my buying sites.
I just stumbled on to my first VP by total mistake. I was in college & was forever losing caps in class so I when I found a capless fountain pen, I bought it the first chance that I could. Now, the love continues.
Thank you.

Try this shop. I really like these folks. Service is great, the products are exceptional, and the manners are from another (greater) era.

If you're looking for a VP and located in the US then I recommend Pam or other retailers which sell VPs at a discount price. But if you're looking for a Decimo then Ujuku is a good place and ebay as well (although shipping rates on ebay can be a bit much).

For new Pilot and Platinum, I like Richie at cyberpens.

It looks like they might still be pre-ordering the LE purple. I just may have to do that.

Thanks for the info.
MYU
Another thumbup.gif for Ujuku. Soundboy_jp, jp_pens, and sakura_zeppelin are also good sellers. And although he is not Japanese, Stan does a very fine job (see Ryojusen Pens). biggrin.gif

thumbup.gif for Ujuku too. He's the only seller that I have communicated with and bought directly from. Very nice, reliable and accomodating!

I have never bought directly from the other ebay sellers that MYU mentions (Soundboy_jp, jp_pens, and sakura_zeppelin) or engeika/japan_antique but I have won multiple acutions that they have posted, often scoring pens at 30-40% below lowest advertised price and have received excellent service from them all. I have not had a single problem with any of these sellers and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again!

Typically these pens start at $0.99. What I have noticed is that a couple of these sellers will pull the auction if a day before the closing date there have been no bids. This was particularly the case for soundboy however I notice now that he has started putting higher starting prices on his auctions which makes the bargain hunting harder but then he has had some choice pens for sale (e.g. Sesenta red and blue).

+1 for Ujuku.
