Full Version: Sheaffer; small cracks at the base of the clip
"Oh Ebay... I've got a Sheaffer snorkel with two small (1/4") cracks on either side of the clip. Is this pen "toast" or is there a way I can repair the cracks? Thanks.
IMO, it's toast.
The reason is that there is a spring inside that holds the clip in place. The plastic isn't especially strong, and there is a lot of stress at that point. I've pulled the cap liners and the spring, and repaired the plastic, only to have the clip pull out anyhow. Caps are relatively cheap, and for the time involved, you'd be better off replacing it.

Yes, sorry, of course... it is black.
It is an Admiral snorkel (I think)
So... I am looking for 2 black plastic caps one with a white dot and a 3/8" gold band and a second cap with Sheaffer on the clip, a 1/4" gold band and no cracks... Thanks for looking!
Not trying to hijack your thread, but if anyone has a grey snork cap, please let me know
