As mentioned in an earlier thread I got a Pilot CL300 for a great price with a lot of other pens....
Stan sold me the correct converter...
But the pen did not fill or write as it should despite a couple of trips to the Ultrasonic cleaner

After emptying the pen and another UC shot that left the water clear, I soaked the nib assy in a 75/25 mix of Rapidoeze overnight
This morning the mix was so dark you could not see through it.... there must have been a boat load of dried ink in the nib assy.
Well gave it two more UC shots this morning to make sure it was truly cleaned and filled it with Noodlers RedBlack....
I am glad to say the pen is writing beautifully and about 7/10 wetness.... and butter smooth....
I think THIS VP I am going to like... did not care for my first modern one 3 yrs ago....
It is a shame you can't find a replacement nib assy or just a nib.... I would love to have one stubbed.

What is Rapidoeze?

Hi Fateh!

Kohinoor's Rapido-eze is a technical pen cleaner that's been out for many years...I sold the product and used it starting back in 1978. Originally for use as a cleaner for Rapidograph technical pens either in an Ultrasonic Cleaner, a squeeze bulb or in any small container. It removes dried up India ink in just about any pen and is safe for most materials except on HR parts...it will oxidize BHR & take a layer off of RHR or RMHR (stick with cold water on HR parts!).

It's concentrated so you add water to dilute and usually a 50/50 solution does the trick. I don't know if Tom used 75% water or R-E, but both concentrations will work depending on how clogged the part is. A build-up of FP pigment is no problem for a cleaner that loosens shellac-based India Ink. The solution also goes a long way even after it becomes dark from ink & will still cut thru dried ink. Recommended soaking first in the solution and then use the U/C unit, usually no more than 1-2 minutes is necessary.

Carried by Art & Drafting supply stores or many of the on-line dealers. Don't know about dealers in India, but I'm sure someone there carries it. It's considered non-toxic, so getting it shipped Internationally shouldn't be a problem if necessary! Great Stuff!
