This is a new body that I made up to take a Sheaffer section. I had a friend who loved the nib but was not keen on the Sheaffer Balance body and loved my green ebonite so here is half the result. Cap is still on the lathe.
Hope you all like.
Cheers

Not sure what to say about this,I need some time to swallow the idea of Sheaffer section with a GHR body.

If you've seen and handled the Sheaffer Balance II cap and barrel, this would be a snap. Great stub/cursive Italic 14k nib, but super cheap cap and barrel. When Chris showed me the pen he had just made in the same GHR I didn't think twice about asking him to make a cap and barrel out of GHR for the Sheaffer nib assembly.

Should have the cap all done tomorrow. I picked up a gold clip today for it and I think with the gold ring on the section it will look great.
Looks like I get to show it off till Sept 23 though lol

Chris, I'm blown away, that's absolutely stunning. I'm having palpitations though, I hope Sept 23 is a typo, as the next meeting is Sept. 13

Chris---Looks great! What filling system does it use? Does the section have a common thread? I've been working on acquiring some vintage nib/ feeds to do something very similar.

Thread was a m10 .75 With the older sections I have re threaded them to match what I am making. I know I know I should not do that but I have so many parts it was a nice way to get them working and into peoples hands so they could be used. The filling system on this is a converter from Sheaffer. At least this way you will be able to put some of those old sections to use. Let me know if you need a line on cheap m10 .75 taps and dies.
Cheers

I like concept of being able to use quality Sheaffer parts like nib, section and feed in the form of a new pen or a barrel that can replace a broken Sheaffer for which a replacement can't be found.

I think that the addition of the white dot as a infill with some white PR is needed right above the clip myself. Just curious, is there a reason you went with that threading over a finer thread? I know the proper four-start tap and dies are pricey (I know, I have one!) but I was wondering if there is another reason, like thread start and grain alingment.

I echo all the other comments about how nice that is, and wonder would you be willing to do the same with other sections? I was thinking maybe of a Pilot 78G!! Tom
