This may come as a suprise, but I have been into writing instruments since 1940.
I started working for my Grandfather as a part time pen repairman. He had worked for Mabie Todd & Co. -New York, for many years, working up to forman of the gold nib department.
In 1922, he came to California, Los Angeles to be exact, and started the Angelus Pen Hospital, but after one year of receiving calls as to the condition of a patient, changed the name to THE FOUNTAIN PEN SHOP.
My Father took over in 1940 and I took over the business in 1975.
After being in Los Angeles for 77 years, we moved closer to our home in the San Gabriel Valley, were we are still serviceing and selling writing instruments.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.

I wonder if New York's Fountain Pen Hospital gets calls like that?
