Hello all, just joined, I'm based in London and have always loved using fountain pens.......my story.....

My story, about my love of fountain pens started during my high school days. My father, who was an Accountant, was very particular about his handwriting and figure work and always used a fountain pen, I watched how he looked after his pens, saw him fill the ink and always had the ones he used at hand. Parkers were his favorite, but always to expensive for me, so I ended up using the cheaper ones.

Than it happened, one day I went into a shop that sold many items, all made in the peoples republic of China, there on the shelf, I spotted some writing instuments, at first I thought they were parkers, but upon close examination thery were not, infact they were called HERO, this was inscribed on the gleming golden cap. I bought two pens, went home and asked my father if I could have some ink, He asked me why I wanted ink, I said I wanted ink for my new fountain pens, I showed him the ones I had bought, he looked at them and asked me to fetch some ink. He inked both pens and said, let me try one as well. After a few days, I asked him about the pens and I discovered that he had bought a dozen, infact he was already hooked, after that I always saw him using the Hero fountain pen.

I have a small collection and trying to find suitable large size zipper cases, which has proved a bit difficult in london. May be some of you good people will point me in the right direction.

Welcome!

That's a nice story. My father gave me a silver MB when I graduated. He always wrote with it and has much meaning to me, just as your Hero's.

Look under Pen Storage in http://www.pendemonium.com/index.htm
While in doubt, look on ebay wink.gif

Wow, that's a great story. Hero's are built on a line that once belonged to Parker, so it is no mistake they look like Parkers.

Ebay certainly has zippered leather cases up to 48 pens. I won a bid on a nice one that holds 12 pens for about $10 USD.

Bruce,

The more I looked at Hero fountain pens, they became familiar. Yes, based on the famous names, Parker, Mont Blonc etc. I have tried to buy small quantities direct fron the manufacturer in China, but I'm just too small to deal with, nor have I come across a distributor in the UK... I guess I'll just have to keep on searching.

Bye for Now

Well, one out of two isn't too bad, I wish you well in your quest of finding a distributor.
