Thank you, Swift Buyer! Pen will be in safe hands shortly!

(Cos OcalaFlGuy thinks I've angered the pen gods. He said (and I have his permission to post this):

Now yes I know you aren't totally responsible for the condition of this Cross but between it and your 51, I'm starting to wonder what you've done to anger the pen gods so.

Perhaps having to use this pen is your perscribed Cross to bear...

Mock me, Mortals! I WILL have a Parker 51 AGAIN!

Hee.

Back in another era of my life, a friend said, "Here, Lisa, I know you like pens," and handed me this (it's basically in the same condition, a little more tarnished now). I actually used it for a little while, cos I liked the refill that was in it. (I don't know if I ever changed it. I'm thinking, probably not.)

What I DO know is that I will never use it again.

And not because it's beat-up with a bent clip or because it's a Cross. Truth is, I have a lot of other non-FPs that I will always reach for first.

But this is sterling silver, so that has to have some value. AND... just because I'm not handy with repairs doesn't mean that someone here isn't.

If that person is you, you can buy this pen for $25, PayPal only please, which includes shipping USPS with tracking and insurance ($20 coverage).

First PM telling me "I want" saves this pen from a lifetime (mine) in a box, tarnishing, wasting away....

idon'tdopaypal but I was thinking...............

Have you given any thought to sending it back to Cross under the lifetimeguarantee to have the clip fixed?

Afterall that is a current $160USD mslp item.

FYI: The pens I've put up for sale here serve a duo purpose (dare I say... duofold?).

1. I get to thin my unruly herd.
2. I'm, ah... heh heh... I'm going to buy a mumbleParker 51mumble. And I promise to be VERY VERY CAREFUL with it.

HA HA HA HA HA! If I had a cat, my laugh would have scared it!

I almost don't want to mention how I "fixed" the nib on my Parker 21....

No, it's good. It's good. It writes a little thicker now, gaaaaaaarghhhhhh. But it's good.

Might I suggest a new padded case, and a briefcase to protect the case. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I think maybe duct-taping my fingers together so I can't pick up the pens might be even safer....

But this world is for RISK! and ADVENTURE! Heartbreaks heal! Such is the lesson gleaned from many, many posts from that thread goodguy started in Chatter!

I do kindv feel sorry for the pens, though. (Hangs head in contrition.)
