Hello all,

Glad to have found this site. I've been interested in fountain pens ever since that fateful day in 7th grade when a Levenger catalog arrived on my doorstep. After agitating for 6 months about getting a fountain pen, my dad broke down and got me a Waterman Philéas for Christmas, to test his conviction that my obsession would be fleeting. Well, I used that green Philéas from that day until my very last written final at Georgetown in the Spring of 2004, when I dropped it and hopelessly mangled the nib. Deciding that this was an omen, I bought myself an Hémisphère and loved it until it was stolen from my bag six months later. Recently, my roommate was given a Cross fountain pen as an award from his company, and that has rekindled the inky flame once again. I've been researching and researching, searching for my next pen. So far this site has been very helpful, and I look forward to interacting with you all!

Welcome to FPN!!!
Do you still have your Waterman Phileas? Becasue there are Nib-Meisters out there, who could un-mangle that nib,and allow you to write with that pen again. Or alternatively, you could buya replacement nib for it too.

Sadly, no. I decided it had done it's bit for King and Country and relegated it to the scrap heap. That way I had an excuse to buy another. ;o)

Hello and welcome to FPN. Kick off your shoes and have a stroll around the grounds. There is lots of good information as well as people willing to share information. Heck you might even pick up a pen or two at the Marketplace.

Once again welcome.

Hi and welcome and I hope your next pen survives the ordeals!
