What is the most beautiful pen ever designed in your eyes ?
I dont ask the most classic pen ever designed as everyone knows the most classic design is the Mont Blanc 149 (boy do I open a can of worms here

) but rather the pen that is the most beautiful in your eyes.

I find that, as with cats, it's hard to point to a truly disagreeable-looking pen. Even the freaks and weirdos (Rotring Skynn springs to mind) have some redemption in their lines.

I doubt I could narrow it down to one, but a green-striped Pelikan 140 would be at or near the top of my shortlist.

The re-release (and I suppose the original) of the 1930's Pelikan. I also like my Pelikan M600 green striated quite a bit. The 149 is rather dull, I'm sorry to say.

Amir, another question impossible to answer, so here goes... (in any ol' order):
(1) Any Toledo M900 or 910 but in all finishes
(2) Montegrappa Blue Nile
(3) MB Charly Chaplin.

I have to agree with Ernst that there is no pen design that I find truely awful. I do have preferences from flat top designs (like the classis 1920 Duofold Senior) to simple ovals (like the Stipula Etruria) or torpedo shapes (like the MB 149). But, the design that strikes me most is the Danitrio Mae West style pen in simple, unadorned urushi with no clip or furniture. That Zen-like simplicity enhanced by the curves in the pen is stunning for me, and the utility of the pen seems to be enhanced by the design.

Damn, the Borg must be getting lazy. Time to press the "get hot" transmission button and give everyone a jolt. Yup, it's the Parker 51. Well, not just any 51, and, no, not the double jewel 51. It's the 51 Flighter, first edition. Oops, sorry to all those Borg wannabees still trying to score one cheaply on Fleabay. This should kick it up another notch.

Second place goes to the Wahl all gold filled Coronet with red pyralin inserts. Not as timeless a design as the 51 Flighter, but a remarkable Art Deco statement (and I'm not generally an Art Deco freak, the style was good in architecture, and a disaster in sterling flatware and pocket watch design, IMO).

ACTHUNG! I have just asked the best Pelikan expert we have here, and he (Rick Propas) informed me that no, it is not an M450 (the vermeil capped tortoise Pelikan) but the M1050.
Much to our disdain it is now going for about $15,000 to $20,000... and even if you had the dough, it'd already be gone tomorrow. So, ferget it.
I guess I'll just get myself a 450 (as planned originally) for about $500 or 390 Euros.

I saw this one IRL and it is GORGEOUS!
Another that amazed me was made by one of our pen turners here. I'd have to go track it down but it was a similar theme with cleaner lines.
I'm not big on metal but the combination here of wood and metal is outstanding.
Past that, there are so many beautiful pens and I can put some of my fairly inexpensive Pels in my top ten because I would be thinking in terms of aesthetics, utility, and quality which all contribute to the overall concept of beauty, IMO.
