I've always looked at the Montegrappa oriental zodiac pens but never saw my year at anything close to a reasonable price ( to me) until today... and I bid on the darn thing. Now I have to see if I will win it.

This is one of those oh my did you really do that moments!

But for me I am on the tail end of divesting myself of almost all my pens. SO this is beyond anomaly right now.

Which pens are you planning on keeping (if you don't mind my asking)?

Honestly Iwould have to look!

from memory: M800, YOL grand barley, red 1911, blue wallstreet, Ainu, green vac, black snork and 4 sentimental pens. That's all I have left from probably 50 or so pens.

Well if you have been so prudent you are allowed an extravagence. Kind of like Shrove Tuesday to Lent.

BTW..it was in this book http://www.amazon.ca/Gargoyle-Andrew-David...2599&sr=8-1 that I found out the meaning of your nic. I must say it made me smile to see it there.

And I know all about Shrove Tuesday although I call it Mardi Gras and have made up for lost time several years running.

I think I know which one, and the price looks great. I hope it holds!

I've missed a lot of the dramas here on FPN over the past months. Can you share why you're divesting yourself of most of your pens?

Over the weekend, I tried again to thin my collection to a more comfortable user set. Sold a few at the marketplace; still waffling on others. And bought two Parker 51s. Eep.

Slaps palm to forehead. "That's not paring down, Lisa; that's paring up!"

You know what they say. If at first you don't succeed...

you'll get a lot of advice.

Unfortunately I lost it for $10. But that was $10 more than I was willing to spend- so no loss no foul. I will just keep looking

Heaven's please FPN didn't have a whit of effect on my collection- except to allow me to buy more. No it is my usual cycle of sell a few & buy a few but this time the selling has gone deeper and I feel that I now have a core of pens that I can use with fun. Maybe I will buy another but for now I am simplifying my pens and seals, maybe paper will come again, and I hope to be able to divest myself of several bottles of ink next month even a Raven Penman!
