I've always been interested in trying something like this however never seen one for sale in the UK. Recently, my school shop have started selling it. Any opinions?

If the cartridges were refilled using a syringe, perhaps bottled ink could be tried in the Lamy rollerball pen.

However, I'd rather put bottled ink in my fountain pens, than in rollerballs.

I bought a Yafa cartridge roller because I thought it would be a great way of using up all these cartridges that pile up around here. It was fairly usable and even slightly interesting for drawing for about an hour. I can't get it to stop skipping now.

My guess is that the Lamy would work far better. wink.gif

Here's another int. cartridge-filling rollerball, available at pendemonium: J. Herbin Stylo-Roller

I've had a look at this in the shop and it is very appealing - I like the shape, texture and translucent colour. It is a smooth writer but I'm not sure about refilling the cartridges with ink. It would be really great if it can be done because Lamy only make the Balloon in blue.
