Can anyone tell me the relative size of a Pelikan 400, 600 and 800 series compared to the Namiki VP? I am narrowing down my choice of a Pelikan and am unable to visit any pen stores in person right now. I have the VP, so I would like to compare.

Thanks, Dean

The Namiki VP, Length = 14 cm
Pelikan M800, capped length = 14.2cm
Pelikan M400, capped lentgh = 12.5 cm

Sorry, don't have the M600.

I think, if you are used to the VP's length and weight, the M800 will be a good choice. I have no regrets getting it.

That seems to be the advice I'm getting - that the 800 would be a good size for me, considering how comfortable I am with the VP. I am also looking at the Pelikan Chicago, but I think that is a "600" size if I'm not mistaken. I know one thing for sure, it ain't easy to find!
I'm liking the 805 blue pinstripe more and more as well.
I like the 420 (primarily the silver guilloche cap), but, from what I'm hearing, I may be unhappy with it's smaller size.

Thanks for the help. Now if I could just decide on a pen. The blue 805 would go nicely with the blue Carbonesque VP........ I think I'm catching that disease that seems to run rampant around here, what do you call it.......nextpenitis??

Thanks, Dean

If you like the weight of the VP, the M805 might be the choice for you. However, if you like the size, the M600 might be for you.
You could always get the new M625 and get the size and weight.

Good luck finding a Chicago.
