I still consider myself a new member -- going on a week! Just curious, and I'm sure it's been asked before--but when do you log onto the FPN?

For me, first thing in the morning when I get into work, cup of coffee to my left & my FP to the right! In the evening right after I search ebay for fountain pen "finds!"

I'm hooked.

Way to often. I'm at home all day and this is my favorite avoidance behavior. (That is avoiding what I really should be doing) blush.gif

Lately it seems to be everytime I walk by the ole PC, which to say, far too often. embarrassed_smile.gif

First thing in the morning, afternoon too, then late at night.

What seems to be the problem???

Lately I've been perusing in the mornings, and in the evenings - but basically whenever I have time. That's a great fedora Jim!

Boy do I love, love, love Borsalinos. The straw I found in SF, but I picked up the Traveler in Rome - it's my favorite hat.

Hey Platinumuser, What pens do you have in your collection? And when/how'd you get into fountain pens?

Busted! I'm back on.

Pens in my collection--
I use a ST Dupont Placed Metal Orpheo daily--this one's always with me--my absolute fave!
In my display case--MB Boheme FP & BP (with the bleu stone), MB Karl de Grosse, MB Kafka FP, MB Jules Verne, ST Dupont Pharaoh FP & BP, ST Dupont Andalusia.
and now sitting in some random drawer a fake Dupont Vertigo.

I've used all of them at some point--three of them were gifts from someone who used to love me, but that's for another forum! I'm planning on selling those three. I'd like to try others.

How'd I get into fountain pens? Had to use one growing up and attending a parochial school--always intrigued by them, such a classy instrument. Switched to BPs & RBs in high school & college, but now as a responsible adult, I refinanced my house and instead of remodeling the kitchen I bought a bunch of pens and watches!

I, too, sit in the back of the room!

Nice collection you've got there. And it sounds like you've got quite a history as a FPer. I love of the fountain pen started when I was in 5th or 6th grade - I had a cartridge fountain pen. Anyway, great to have you aboard.

Thanks. To be honest--a few of them are a little too flashy, beautiful but flashy. I feel most comfortable with a simple, clean-line look, as long as it writes smoothly & feels good in my hand. Didn't mean to be so self-absorbed--Tell me about the pens you use.
JRodriguez
The pens I use most are a Lamy 2000, which I carry just about everywhere, an OS Sheaffer Balance in Marine Green, and a Pelikan M800 with a great stub nib ground by Greg Minuskin. But I have a good rotation going too ... here's a pic of some of the others:

I never, ever, NEVER, ever ever ever log on while at work.

Unless I'm on break.

Or I get a PM notice.

Or, um...
lapis
Hmm... "at work, I was never not logged in" ?
Me, I always log out just shortly before flaking off for the day....

Late at night usually 10:30pm to 12ish. Speaking of which I better sign off. Just 5 hours and 45 minutes until the alarm to get up and go to work! rolleyes.gif

Very lovely collection. Hmmm, I notice that you have a lock on your pen case . . . Does it work? Does anyone really lock their case?
JRodriguez
smile.gif Some folks might have pen cases that lock, but that lock hole on mine is purely decorative. This is a case my mom bought for me from Bombay Company, and I guess the folks who designed it thought a fake key hole would make it more aesthetically appealing or something ...

During the day on my lunch break, and occasionally in the evenings.
