I wonder if you can provide any info on the Aurora 802 "88"R pen I have had for a number of years. I have never used the pen; it has been just sitting in my desk. The only other info on the box says "precious gold plated version. Solid gold nib."

I received it as an award I am guessing 10-12 years ago. Is it collectible? Could you provide an approximate value?

Regards

Hi and welcome.
First error (just kidding): don't own any FP without using it. I have only one Auroira, an Optima, and it is one of my faves.

Try it out.

Hallo and welcome to FPN.
Well, "8" stands for being an 88 family model (http://www.aurorapen.it/penne.php?lang=italian&subpage_id=49&level=2), "0" is the big Fountain Pen version (with piston filler mechanism) and "2" can be the full gold plated version, but I'm not sure, I've never seen that.
A pic would be helpful.
As for the value, I would expect something around 250€, but take it as a rough data.

Btw, you are welcome to the Italian FP forum to discuss this kind of Pen.

Ciao,

Andrea

p.s. let it give a try, you will be impressed, it is a fine writing instrument!
