Full Version: How waterproof is Tahitian Pearl

I need to pick up another color. I'd like to get a good waterproof that is still interesting. I am thinking it would be good to have one pen loaded for signing (am a notary) so I can get away from ball points (man, I can't STAND them anymore). I was wondering about Tahitian Pearl. How waterproof is it?

Chupie, it's pretty waterproof. I haven't done a soak test yet but it passed my brush test with flying colors. I like my main drawing inks to hold up to a watercolor wash, so that's how I test them.

The added bonus is the Tahitian Pearl dries fast. It's becoming my second main ink behind only Noodler's Black.

I'll try to post pix when I can.

Excellente! Now, I'm going to order one other color with it. What to choose, what to choose. Maybe Cayenne? Or a good green? *sigh*

This was my reply to a similar question on another thread here:

Tahitian Pearl is labeled "Eternal" so it has virtually the same waterproofness [sic] and sunproofness [sic again] as Noodler's Black and Luxury Blue. The only difference is that it is not as resistant to the highly concentrated bleach solutions that fraud artists might use to lift writing from a document or check.

Great color!

OK, I have ordered Tahitian Pearl and Luxury Blue so that I have two waterproof colors. I think my Sailor black is ok, but I can do checks with luxury blue at least. (not that anyone would want to change MY checks.) and sign notary stuff. Woohoo! biggrin.gif
