So how do you store all the bottles of ink you have? I'm creeping towards 15 bottles already and I'm a bit unimaginative on where and how I can store it without showing everyone in my family that I'm nuts to have so much ink.
Betty yet, how about pictures of where you store all your ink? I'm sure that would be an interesting sight. I'll try to take one when I'm home.

This is the current home of all my ink. It's one of my desk drawers:

This will be their new home after I restore it:

Hi Betty,
A bit unimaginative here. I have two 3-drawer cabinets, and each has a folder drawer, and two smaller drawers. One of those cabinets has both of its smaller drawers full of ink bottles, as I just got my 85th ink today

. And I have a few bottles on my desk, and several in my carry-all bag

.
Yes, I know I am mad

.
Warm regards, Wim

Hi Betty.
Here is a picture of the dresser drawer in the basement that holds my ink:

There are 97 bottles in the drawer, two on my desk at home, and five in my desk at work, for a grand total of: 104 bottles! I definately need a better storage system.

Beautiful pictures and drawers everyone!!!
Larry, 104 inks?!!! Wow, I can't even imagine myself owning that much ink. Ha ha...Right now, I only have a bag to store my inks under my desk. NYC apartments are very small

Your drawer also looks very familiar. We used to have a drawer like that too, same exact color and finish, and same exact handle style too.
I'm thinking of getting one of those plastic shoe boxes to hold my inks

About as un-imaginative as you can get, but it works at the moment. Two shoe boxes, though if I get one more bottle I will have to resort to another method:

Interesting that so many of you keep your ink bottles in the boxes. I don't (save opening and closing) but understand that it could be another step in the pen filling ritual.

Marina,

Instead of buying those plastic boxes, I think I'll dig out some old shoe boxes to put my ink!
I too like to keep the boxes on with the ink, but I stripped away some boxes because I was running out of room and the boxes looked so plain.

I have 2 vials and 3 bottles. I'll see if I can take a pic. It's not so much, but I hope I will accumalate...
I keep them in my desk drawer.

I met this artisan in Recife who makes decorated wooden boxes. He uses copies of old engravings over hand-painted lacquer to produce exceptionally beautiful pieces of art.
First the special place where the box is:

Now the box closer:

I don't have a picture to share.
I would like to add to the discussion of keeping the bottles in the boxes. I always toss the boxes. I enjoy seeing a my little bottles lined up, I get a kick out of that.
On a note related to bottle aesthetics, does anyone else think the Private Reserve bottles are a bit homely? They look like one would expect jelly or face cream to be inside?

The only box I have kept is the faux leather box for my Visconti ink. The top half of the box lifts off and is near flush with the top of the visconti bottle so it gives that extra little support that I like.

Yup, it does remind me of jelly. I don't really like that PR bottle.

Very artful box Alejandro. The contrast between the white and the antique green (that's how it appears on my screen at least) is very elegant.

I that a sports card book on the shelf there? How interested in those are you? Pocket watches as well. Those can get real expensive. Makes pens look cheap. Nice shelf.

Andy - In my picture, the ink in bottles are unopened. The only exception is the DC Supershow Blue. I don't know, it has a special seal on it
Bob - I think the PR bottles are fine.
Dennis - Thank you. I will post more when it's done. It's an antique knockoff of the Gerstner company machinist tool box. Gerstner is still in business and carries the boxes in all sorts of configurations. Very expensive.
Edit: My box came free! From a good friend who thought I'd like it for my pens.

In response to Gatorade:
It is a Sports Card Book. I picked it up at a book store. I don't collect, but was intrigued gby the history....The pocket watches came to me five years ago when my father passed away. They don't work, and when I get some free time I will send them to get fixed.
Thanks for asking...with three kids though, I have time for only one hobby

Just checking to see if there was a possible cross collectible trade

My pocket watch came as an heirloom as well. It is an 1860's? Fusse movement. I got it not too long ago so I don't know the ins and outs of it yet. Had it looked at and it needs cleaning and a touch of oxidation removed but it works fine. Now I gotta save up for the cleaning bill

Very nice chupie!! and WOW you have a bottle of Boston Brahmin Blue.. I am STILL looking for one of those to buy from somebody!
Is this the same piece of furniture in the Show Us Your Desk thread?? Looks really cool; I dig the rusticness (?) of it. DON'T PAINT IT!!

It is the same one. No, I would not paint it. I like rusticness too. I like the "lived in" look. That is, I think, Noodler's luxury blue you are seeing there. I have Noodler's Purple, Marine Green, Cayenne, Tahitian Pearl and Luxury Blue, a bottle of Sailor's black and Schaeffer's skrip black.
