Today I decided to take some time to swing by a pen shop I found a couple months ago to get my pen fixed I had bought there. It turned out one side of the nib was bent and that was causing all kinds of weird issues. It would work great most of the time and then just quit working sometimes. He bent the nib the way it should be. Then I ended up checking out some of the pens there and some of the inks and really liked the looks of the Private Reserve color Tanzanite.

It's such a smooth writing ink and a nice, rich shade of blue with just a tiny, tiny hint of purple to it. Or at least not enough purple to make me want to just give the ink to my wife. wink.gif

To look at Tanzanite on the chart I didn't think I would like it. (I usually prefer redder purples to bluer ones). But when I got some Tanzanite cartridges to smooth out a balky fine nib, I became quite fond of the color. It looks nice in a slightly flexible nib and is blue enough to pass as professional--a stealth purple.

Tanzanite is absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful, saturated violet-blue. The only drawback for me is that it takes forever to dry. As a left-handed overwriter, that is enough to keep me from using it.

I love tanzanite. Kind of a royal blue (purple-blue) Its done well in some of my balkier pens.

I agree that it's a wonderful ink (but I can see that it would present problems for a left-handed overwriter!). I've found that it 'ages' really well on paper, too.
