The focus of my pen collection is writing instruments by prominent 20^th century industrial designers. On the Aurora pen site they mention a 1970 pen called “Design” by Giorgetto Giugiaro. I am familiar with his “Kona” pen; does anyone know anything about this other pen of his.

I do not know such pen. Can you point out exactly where in their website the pen is mentioned? This will help.

Thank you for the link.

I've never heard of this model. Some research on Italian search engines shows nothing. There are frequent links to Aurora Desing line, intended as the line of Hastil and Thesis (like here: http://www.unilibro.it/find_buy/scrittura/aurora.asp), while the official Aurora web page list them under the Elite line.

Unfortunately the name of the pen next to Giugiaro name is misleading for any web search!!

Thanks for your help so far. I have sent an email to Aurora for information but don’t imagine I’ll hear from them until the end of the Italian August holiday.

I will post what ever info (a picture I hope) as soon as I know more.

I have the complete list of Giugiaro's works, up to 2004. Here I post all the references to pens I found: 1983 "design di penna" for Parker (unknown model); 1985- 1986 "collezione di penne (pens collection)" for Aurora (Kona line I guess) and 1991 "penna a sfera (ballpoint pen)" for Sylvanpen/PaperMate (unknown model). I found nothing about "Design" for Aurora in 1970. Regards, Giuseppe

Now I will have to know which Parker.

Here is the reply from Aurora. So I guess the only Giugiaro pen is the Kona.

I have written to his firm to find out about his other pen designs for other manufactures – I will keep you posted.
