Two months ago, I ordered a(n) (alledged) Waterman converter from Chubby's Pen Room out
of Goodlettsville, Tn via the Fleabay for at that time, my Phileas. Well, since then, my Phileas
has had Waterman Florida blue catridges (that came with it) in it.

My like new Expert 1 did come with it's own converter, however, the Man 200 I just got did not
have one, soooo, out comes my two month old one from Chubby's.

I even thought I was being prudent before I paid for it and asked them specifically if it fit the
Phileas and was assured it would.

BZZZZZZT. Wrong Answer Noodler's Midnight blue breath.

While it closely resemebles the factory Waterman converter in my Expert 1 it won't physically
fit in either the Phileas, the Expert nor the Man 200. While it DID appear to fit on the open end,
apparently it wasn't a correct fit as there was a slight ink leakage from the nib section on the
Man 200 (after I filled the converter but before I figured out it wouldn't then fit into the barrell).
Nor is it marked Waterman like my Expert converter is.

I am usually pretty good about filling pens cleanly. Now I have ink all over my fingers, a nasty
nib section that needs to be reflushed and dried (again) and a useless converter. crybaby.gif

I have an email into Chubby's, hopefully they will stand behind their sale and wrong info given
out.

(sigh)

Awwww....

Sorry about the nasty mess ... and the inconvenience.

That whole ink all over thing takes me back
to when I loved fountain pens and hated
them, all at the same time.

Ruined my only good purse (at the time)
with a less than stellar Sheaffer, not to
mention stained countless articles of clothing.

Hope you get it sorted out quickly and get
a nice, shiny, new Waterman converter for
your troubles.

I think I know what you mean.
The barrel on my Sheaffer is just a smidgen too short.
SO, when I unscrew the barrel, the barrel pulls the cart off with it; sticky mess. rolleyes.gif

@ Bruce, Sorry about the converter mess. If you lived closer to me I'd give you one of mine.

Thought I'd let everyone know this worked out ok.

The guy that runs "Chubby's" is named Lee.

When I first emailed him back (above) he sent me an email back that he had already addressed
this issue and refunded my original money. Which he couldn't have done since I'd never known of
much less emailed him about the converter problem.

At that point though we're not talking much money here, I began to get a little PO'd. I bit my tongue
and fingers and emailed him back that we'd never discussed the issue before. He was very apologetic
after than and said he'd send me a correct converter right away. I asked him (since he sells pens)
to pahlessssse, physically try the converter in a Waterman to be sure before he sent it. (As the one I
had Very Closely resembled a correct Waterman converter).

He did in fact send me a genuine Waterman converter. All's well that ends well.

Bruce,

Genuine Waterman converters have the word "Waterman" engraved on the metal ferrule. There are lots of converters that look very similar, so when you want OEM, check the label. smile.gif
