Hello!

I'm not heavily into CS and was wondering...If I purchased a modern 58 that had a blind cap (button filler?) but was set up to be C/C, could it be easily set back to button? I would think so, but wanted to check with those more knowledgeable than myself.

Thanks!

Hey CJ,

I don't believe that Conway Stewart ever made the modern 58 in a button filler model. I think that they only had lever and C/C fillers.

That being stated, if one wanted to change what was once a button filler but was made into a C/C filler back into a button filler (whew!), one would need to purchase or exchange the nib/section assembly. I think that the cost of this would be prohibitive. On top of that, there would be the cost of the CS pressure bar (and maybe the brass button) that fits inside the barrel.

Good luck with your project!

Peace,

Phroneo

It is a 58. Some modern 58 barrels were made in 2-parts, giving the appearance of a blind cap. If it's not a lever filler, it will be c/c as stated in the listing.
