Hi: I have a nice amber Shaeffer balance that fractured at the screw in part. I'd like to buy a new body for it. I'm rather open as to colour.......thank you,

Hi,

If you don't mind the basic plain colours, you could keep an eye open for one of the rollerball versions which can be picked up quite cheaply, the section screws straight in, only drawback is that you can't use the newer twist converters as they don't fit (there is something at the bottom of the barrel for holding the RB refill in place, probably a spring), you have to use the older squeeze style or cartridges.

Good luck.

Thanks, Andy.....

I decided to send it back to Sheaffer to see if they'd honour the warrantee.

Hi,

Hopefully they will, I have 2 Millennium versions (amongst others) and one developed a couple of cracks on the cap (where the clip is) I sent it back to Sheaffer's UK distributor (Stone Trading who also do Pelikan I think), they had no spare parts to repair/replace, so they sent me a new Crimson Glow and the original Millennium back, pretty please the outcome, 2 nice pens for the price of one.

The cracks seem to have stabilized, I now take care not to clip in my pockets etc, so the Millennium is in regular rotation as it writes really well, in the event that the cap falls apart (unlikely), I will just put the section in one of the 3 plain coloured RB bodies I have.

Good luck.

Andy
