Nibble
I would appreciate some advice (especially from UK pen-persons who might know where to get supplies.)

My (beloved) Danitrio Mikado filled with FPM Black Tulip has begun to grow mould.

In fact it did this once before. I thought I was having ink flow problems: the only way I could get the pen to start was to flick ink out of the window. Eventually I found mould growing around the nib. I washed it thoroughly, and flushed diluted bleach through with the help of the eye-dropper.

When I refilled everything seemed to flow beautifully. I assumed that the flow problems were because the nib had been blocked by the mouldy ink.

Having left the pen quietly capped for about two weeks I find that mould is again growing around the nib. More drastic action needs to be taken.

I am thinking of buying an ultrasonic cleaner and some fungicide.

Does anyone have advice as to make/model of ultrasonic cleaner and name of fungicide (and perhaps, where I should get them.)

Maybe it might be best to send the pen to a qualified repair person?

Hope you solve your problem soon.

You need to get rid of your ink, even if you did manage to get rid of the mold with the bleach, you may have reinfected the pen with the ink you had. You will have infected any other pens that you have filled from the same bottle, so you would be wise to give them the business too, or else you will perpetuate the cycle. You'll also need to get rid of any ink that you, say, filled from confirmed contaminated bottle, then filled from another bottle. Ink mold is like something out of a B grade horror movie.
