Red for sure. But that's just me. But then again, I am in a red phase right now. And not to mention that all my other Pelikans, save the Future, which is in red, are not in any shade of red.
Hmmm, maybe I need to be thinking about getting a red M600.

The Blue is so vibrant, I love it. What ever you go with you will enjoy it, Pelikan are outstanding. I'm a recent convert I have an M805 Blue and My latest, the big gun- M1000 in black. I would love an M1000 in black with Platinum trim.
Have fun, regards

My M800 is green, the M1000 is black, M320 is yellow, Toledo M910 is gonna be red, so you're only left over with blue.

You mean which one should you buy first... you know you're going to end up with both of them.
Both the Blue and the Red are beautiful. Myself I prefer the red, it is more vibrant. The blue on the other hand look more subdue and classy IMO.

The blue looks more sophisticated.

I love the blue. But I can understand the dilemma. I want to get a M600, but would hate to get another blue. The red is nice also.

Hi,
Another vote for Blue, personally I have never been attracted to the Red.

I voted for the blue, it looks more "classy' to me

For some strange reason I really like the looks of the 600 in blue and the 800 in red.
One thing to add, I think that blue Pelikan are nicer with the rhodium trim despite the fact that I usually prefer gold trim. Since there is no 605 (I don't recall seeing any) for a M600 it's clearly red for me but for an M800 I'd say either M805 Blue or M800 Red

I want the red. My wife loves the blue. (I do occasionally like to use her blue). I'd take both.

another vote for the blue. I just joined this forum day before yesterday and bought a blue 400 on the classifieds here today. My new sailor 1911 in yellow was delivered today - two days early. I haven't inked it yet; I'm sort of waiting 'til I can be alone with it, is that weird?

Doesn't look like we're helping much - fairly even split. Both are nice but the blue is, to my eye, more striking. Filled with a blue like PR American Blue or the like - lovely.

I picked up a Red stripe 800 on the bay at a great price but couldn't wait to trade it off for a Blue! The Blue is so elegant looking! I have a 400 and an 800 now in the Blue Stripe and if I was to pick up a 600 Sovereign it would be a Blue Stripe.

blue but I am not overly fond of red. If they would make m1000 in blue I would have to get another Pelikan

My rule is, if you can not decide yourself, you just don't want it enough, yet.
So my recomendation is.........
Leave the money in the bank untill you have firm desire for one or the other, or something else.

Money? Bank? What are these things you speak of?
Red.
Of course, red is my favorite color, but...
I own the M600 in red.

It depends. I think if I get the blue, maybe Visconti Blue or PR Supershow Blue. If I get the red, probably Aurora Black or Noodler's Old Manhattan Black.

Do what I do - create your own color combination. My R600 body has the white cap from a New Yorker and the blue blind cap from an R605. Makes quite a handsome pen.

I have an M600 in Green and my next buy will be an M800 in Red...

I wish I could help! The only two Pelikans I have seen with my own eyes are my green striated 400NN and tortoise M400. I too am trying to choose a colour for my new Pelikan. I am not sure if I could choose red or blue without having seen them. Blue is my 2nd favorite colour though!

Go on Flickr and search the colors you're considering. The photos on Flickr are much more valuable for getting a sense of what a pen looks like than any retail photo I've seen.
