Full Version: Was there ever a Fuoco full-size?

I know there were the following pens in what I think of as the elements series:

Sole (regular optima sized, celluloid)
Primavera (regular optima sized)
Mare (regular optima sized)
Sole Minima
Fuoco Minima

Was there ever a full-sized Fuoco?
FrankB
There was/is an Optima that is burgundy (aurolide), but no full sized Optima in Fuoco that I know of.

I knew about the burgundy Optima (it's still made).

So, with the regular Optimas:

Resin:
Black w/silver cap, gold trim
Black w/chrome trim
Black w/gold trim
Red w/chrome trim (discontinued)
Burgundy w/chrome trim (discontinued)
Green w/gold trim (discontinued)
Clear w/clear ends, chrome trim
Clear w/red ends, chrome trim
(was there a blue version?)

Auroraloide:
Blue w/chrome trim
Blue w/gold trim
Burgundy w/chrome trim
Burgundy w/chrome trim, mini (discontinued)
Brown w/gold trim (discontinued)
Green w/gold trim

Off the top of my head, your Optima list looks correct. I also thought there was a resin Optima in blue, but I am not sure.
Deirdre
There's also some others, like the Riflessi, the sterling barley pattern, and the gold barley version.

Of course, the continents series (Asia, Afrika, and Europa so far) are also based on the Optima.
FrankB
Sorry, I thought you were focusing on the regular production Optimas. There are indeed the LE Optimas which include the continents series as well as the "elements" series with which you started the thread.

So, what's up? Are you in an information mode or do you feel an Optima purchase coming on?

Well, I just feel like the Sole/Mare/Primavera/Fuoco line's incomplete without the full-sized Fuoco, and I can't recall anyone ever mentioning it.

That's all.

I have the mini-Fuoco, but I'd also like the full size.

And, while we're at it, the mini-Mare and mini-Primavera.

Not that I'm a completist or anything.

FrankB
I do not know if it will help at all, but I just cannot afford a complete collection of Optimas. I had to choose rather carefully what I wanted. I have a regular blue Optima, a Primavera and a Sole, which took me ages to find. If I never get another Optima, I have three great ones that I love. But, darn it, a fill sized Fuoco would be tempting.
Deirdre
What, this isn't on your list?

Okay, well, it's not really on mine, either.

You're right, a full-sized Fuoco would be tempting. I think the sales of the Primavera were somewhat disappointing, thus the Fuoco never appeared except as a smaller edition mini.

Really?! Do you have any statstics on that statement? The Primavera is an eye popping, gorgeous pen that has attracted the attention of even the most casual observers whom I personally know. I mean, I believe you if you say it is true, but I cannot quite wrap my mind around the idea. blink.gif It is a stunning pen. Why would it not sell? Do people dislike green?
